WEIGHT LOSS PHYSICIAN DEVELOPS NEW PROGRAM TO OPTIMIZE HEALTH
Leawood, Kan. – Rick Tague, M.D., M.P.H., a board-certified bariatric physician, announces that he has developed an advanced, “optimum nutrition” plan to promote health through better nutrition. Tague is the founder of The Center for Nutrition and Preventive Medicine in Leawood.
While his practice sees many patients who want to lose 30-60 pounds or more, Tague said he also sees patients who are generally healthy, have 5-15 pounds to lose and who want to eat well to promote long-term health and disease prevention. “I developed the Optimum Nutrition Plan specifically for those patients,” said Tague.
“My medical practice is devoted to helping patients lose weight and avoid nutrition- related diseases like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, high blood sugars and heart disease,” said Tague. “The Optimal Nutrition Plan is a natural extension of what we have been providing for over 14 years to our patients.”
“The typical American diet is often nutrient-deficient, putting people at risk of many diseases. We provide knowledgeable, practical instruction on a health-promoting nutrition plan based upon the latest research” said Tague. “Patients meet with me, have metabolic lab work done and work one-on-one with our dietitians and nutritionists to implement a personalized plan.”
Patients will receive a complete nutrition plan, including a vitamin and supplement review. The staff will review current vitamin, mineral and nutrient intake and develop a detailed plan to meet each patient’s overall health needs. Patients will learn what nutrients are essential, what form of the nutrient to take, and what dose will provide the desired effect.
Tague is an honors graduate of Tulane University Medical School, New Orleans, LA, with an M.D. degree and a Masters in Public Health degree. He is board certified by the American Board of Obesity Medicine and began his nutrition, weight loss and bariatric medicine practice in 1996.
