Low Energy: Fixing the Power Drain

Low Energy: Fixing the Power Drain

Energy… ever want or need more? Are you more tired than you should be? Do you run out of energy before the day is over? Has your metabolism “slowed down” in recent years, making weight loss even more difficult? Do activities seem to require “too much effort” even though they were fun and easy in earlier years?

If your goal is to have more energy, especially from burning excess body fat, read further for ideas to turn your metabolism back on.

Fatigue, it’s the single most common symptom in my patients. And fatigue has a major impact on quality of life, productivity, and relationships. Truly, life is too short and too valuable to put up with unnecessary fatigue.

Here are 5 strategies, including a simple, innovative supplement (Strategy #5), to get your metabolism active again and your energy up. I’ve seen these 5 strategies help countless patients, and they can help you too!

Strategy #1: Get your sleep!

Almost every child or adolescent I’ve seen for being overweight has yawned during my interview with them. And, invariably, sleep deficiency was partly to blame for their fatigue and unwanted weight gain. This is common in adults also. Adults need 7 ½ hours of sleep EVERY night to have a healthy metabolism and energy level. Children need more. Research proves it! Read more here…

Strategy #2: Get your Essential Nutrients!

Nutrient deficiencies are epidemic. Here we are, the most sophisticated society ever, and yet our foods are nutrient deficient, leading to severe cases of malnutrition and overweight at the same time in the same bodies.

Nutrients, such as vitamins and minerals, are essential for the body’s chemistry, otherwise known as the “metabolism”. Without proper nutrients, metabolism and energy dwindles. My Essential Nutrient Package, which is available online, was created to manage this malnutrition problem. Don’t let a simple nutrient deficiency rob you of quality of life, a healthy mood, and abundant energy.

Strategy #3: Get your water!

Dehydration is the most common cause of daytime fatigue and is common. Every cell of our body needs water for energy production and delivery of nutrients to cells. Mild dehydration can slow metabolism 3%. The average person needs 64 ounces (8 glasses) of water or other beverages per day to stay hydrated. Try to drink a glass of water BEFORE each meal. Cold water turns up fat burning, so ice it up!

Strategy #4: Be active, it increases energy.

That’s right, inactivity (the “couch potato syndrome”), actually shuts down the metabolism and energy production. You don’t have to run marathons, just be active. I recommend a minimum of 7500 steps per day and 9+ minutes of fitness time each day (i.e. activity that is more active and aerobic, getting sweaty and short of breath). Your metabolism is forced to increase with these amounts of activity.

Strategy #5: Take Energy Plus regularly.

Here’s a really simple (and popular) strategy… in a pill. For years, patients have asked, “Can you just give me energy in a pill?” As you know, with busy lives, we can’t always get enough sleep. And stress, aging, “the blues” or other factors often play a role in our energy drain. Energy Plus can help.

I went to the research to find out what natural compounds actually increase fat burning, sugar burning, mental focus, alertness, mood, and sense of energy. I found 5 natural compounds that I combined in to a single, simple formula that I call Energy Plus. Other than our core vitamins, Energy Plus has rapidly become our most popular and most user recommended product. The reason is simple. It works!

Research involving Energy Plus ingredients shows support for…

  • Increased energy by “burning” stored fat and increasing metabolism rate
  • Improved mental concentration and focus
  • Increasing spontaneous physical activity so you actually want to be active
  • Improving mood so you feel better
  • Lowered blood glucose by 18 mg/dl in one diabetes study, lowered HgA1C
  • Reducing body fat and body weight
  • Increasing thermogenesis – turning fat calories into heat and energy
  • Reducing appetite, supporting weight loss

Here are the powerful ingredients in the Energy Plus formula:

Energy Ingredient #1: American Ginseng.

Documented effects on increasing mood, mental energy, and physical activity. Supports healthy blood glucose levels.

Energy Ingredient #2: Green Tea Extract.

Researched for metabolism enhancing effect. The ECGC component is key, so I’ve highly concentrated it. Combining green tea with other ingredients gives the highest potential for maximum fat “burning”.

Energy Ingredient #3: Caffeine.

From multiple sources, including Green Tea and Guarana. Increases weight loss and metabolism. Mental concentration, mental energy, mood, and physical activity are all supported by caffeine. Each capsule contains the caffeine in ¾ cup of coffee or soda. Support for calorie burning AND appetite suppression occurs.

Energy Ingredient #4: Capsaicin.

This is an extract of hot peppers. Capsaicin stimulates the metabolism.

Energy Ingredient #5: L-tyrosine.

Deficiency of this amino acid can cause depression and fatigue.

Precautions: Do not take if caffeine sensitive or if on coumadin. Take with food to avoid stomach upset. It may be advised to reduce any other green tea or caffeine containing products. Any side effects, such as “too much energy” or feeling your heart beat usually disappear within a few days. Suddenly stopping the product may trigger a caffeine withdrawal headache.

Begin with 1 capsule twice daily with a meal or snack. Increase to two capsules twice daily or one capsule four times daily as tolerated for maximum benefit. Avoid within 5 hours of bedtime. Maximum dose is 2 capsules per 4 hours. Do not exceed 4 capsules daily. You may drink green tea, but do not take any other green tea supplements. Busy lives, stress, and having too much to do is draining us of the energy we were meant to have. Rest, replenish your body with nutrients, stay hydrated, be active, and use Energy Plus to support maximum energy and metabolism.

P.S. Note that fatigue may be the result of a medical problem. Low thyroid, low sex hormones, an infection, depression, iron deficiency… the possibilities are endless. This article is not about these. It’s about the more common type of fatigue that is not from a significant medical problem. See your physician if your fatigue is severe or does not respond to simple solutions.
